Introduction

My name is Jonathan O'Toole, and I arrived here in Bluefields on the 15th of September to begin work with blueEnergy. I studied mechanical engineering at UNSW in Sydney, Australia, with a focus towards sustainable energies. I completed my senior thesis in 2007 based on the design and construction of a small wind turbine.
I finished my final semester on exchange at PUC in Santiago, Chile, at the start of 2008 and have been traveling in south and central America for 4 months prior to my arrival.
My work here began with attending and assisting the Hugh Piggott conference. Now that he has left the work has been piled high for the technical team, in which I will be working. My focus here, for the next couple of months at least, will be to help finalize the design of the blueDiamond and to make 3D models and sets of technical drawings to help take the organisation to the next level.
Other tasks that I will be involved in will include supply chain management, research and development and somehow be in charge of the IT.
I will be here for at least a year and hope to learn everything I can, at the same time as helping blueEnergy to achieve their goals.
